Catalog-number decoder
Dealers, auction houses and society journals describe pieces by reference number, and every corner of the hobby has its own reference. Type a number as you found it and this page tells you which book it comes from.
The references
Abbreviations as they are commonly written, the book they stand for, what it numbers, where the numbers can be looked up online, and where to get the book: the publisher or society that sells it, or the free scan where the copyright has run out. None of these links pays us anything.
